Flights Halted at LaGuardia Airport

The FAA anticipates flights being grounded through 7 pm EST at New York’s LaGuardia Airport due to the snow and ice conditions. This comes after a Delta flight skidded on the runway while landing. All passengers were safe aside from minor injuries. Newark and John F. Kennedy Airport are also experiencing the same weather delays.

Storms Snarl Air Travel For Thursday

Airlines have cancelled over a 1,000 flights for Wednesday and began cancelling some flights for Thursday as another round of winter storms hit. Airports being affected by weather changes are Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Airlines Cancel Flights Bracing for Another Winter Storm

Airlines have cancelled more than 1,260 flights nationwide for Monday and Tuesday as the winter storm moves from the northeast to the mid-west and south. Airlines waived change fees for those customers flying through airports hit by the winter weather. Among the airports seeing problems on Monday morning were Boston Logan, Charlotte, Memphis and Nashville.

Blizzard to Hit Northeast and New England

The next winter storm hitting the Northeast and New England area is forecast to have winds as strong as a Category 2 hurricane. The blizzard is set to hit late Saturday and into Sunday with strong winds, snowfall, and strong winds of up to 70 miles an hour. Blizzard conditions could make traveling difficult during the weekend.

Winter Storm Snarls Midwest Flights, Threatens Northeast

A winter storm moving toward the Northeast led to the cancellation of more than 2,000 flights in the Midwest Sunday and more than 2,300 flights so far Monday, dumping 17.5 inches of snow at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Major airlines have waived change fees for fliers affected by the storm.
