American Airlines to Fly 787 on Overseas Routes

American Airlines Group announced plans to fly its Boeing 787 Dreamliners from Dallas to Buenos Aires and Beijing. The fuel-efficient 787 will begin flying the two routes in June. American took delivery of its first 787 in January. The planes will have Wi-Fi and touch-screen in-flight entertainment systems, USB jacks and power outlets at every seat

Delta Launching LAX to Shanghai light

In July, Delta will begin a nonstop daily service between Los Angeles International Airport and Shanghai-Pudong Airport. Delta’s new flight addition will help connect customers to over 25 cities in China and over 40 connections for the Los Angeles bound Shanghai flight to markets in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. Delta will operate the flight on a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft offering BusinessElite, Economy Comfort and Economy class.

Airlines Adding More Flights To Accommodate Super Bowl Fans

Airlines are adding dozens of flights to serve Phoenix in order to accommodate the large crowds flooding the city for Super Bowl weekend. Travelers are expected to stream into the city weekend between Friday, Jan. 30, and Monday, Feb. 2. United Airlines, is adding 55 flights, including two new routes, to accommodate Super Bowl fans. Alaska, Delta, Jet Blue and American are also adding extra flights to provide flights to the influx of travelers.

Iceland Lowers Aviation Alert Level on Bardarbunga Volcano

A no-fly zone over Iceland’s Bardarbunga volcano was lifted Sunday as the aviation alert level was lowered from red, the highest level, to orange. Orange indicates that an eruption is not imminent but cannot be discounted, as the Icelandic Meteorological Office reports continued seismic activity in the area.
