Delta to Switch to Price Based Loyalty Program Jan. 1

Delta Air Lines will launch its revamped frequent flier program on Jan. 1. Skymiles will now be a spend based model versus the total miles flown, where travelers will receive points based on the total money spent on a ticket. Delta is the first U.S. global carrier to make this transition.

An annual survey found that Virgin America offered the healthiest food options of airlines as far as meals go. JetBlue and Delta Airlines came in next as they both offer healthy options. Delta has improved from last year most likely from its partnership with the nutritious food provider Luvo as . The survey is based on nutrition, menu options, and whether the airline has improved from the previous year.

American Airlines Offers Bonus-Mile Promotion for Business and First-Class Travelers

Travelers who book first- or business-class seats on American Airlines will receive bonus miles through all of 2015, the airline recently announced. The promotion begins Jan. 1 and includes all American, US Airways and partner-operated flights.
